Birchbox Product Review - Laura Mercier Mascara

I was happy to see this appear in my November Birchbox as in a lot ways, I've yet to find a mascara I love, I've yet to find... the one.

So let's start with the positives. This is a great mascara. It creates great lash definition - definitely the least clump-inducing product I've ever come across - and it's very eye friendly. I wore this a couple of times to long shifts in a hot work place, and, in addition to staying put (which in itself is an achievement many mascaras fail to reach), it didn't irritate my eyes after a whole day of wear, no itchiness, no crumbling mascara, no redness.

So now, the downside.... Well actually, there isn't one. I think this product does exactly what it claims to, and does it very well... unfortunately, the look it creates just isn't what I'm in to. It creates very delicate, defined lashes, that look very natural. It would be perfect if you work somewhere very conservative, or really don't like the 'I'm wearing makeup' look. I, however, like bold eyes. I like full lashes, that are very black and make me look half awake.

So yeah, if you want a subtle, almost natural looking finish to your eyelashes; something that defines them, but doesn't make them go BOOM, then look no further. This is a fantastic quality product. If however you like more statement lashes then stay away; even with building it up, this most likely won't work for you.

Firstly, I apologise for how badly I need to do my eyebrows!!
For the sake of clarity I'm not wearing any other makeup here, to make it easier to see what the mascara does. As I said; nice, long, defined lashes, but personally not as full of thick as I like them.

Have you used this product? What did you think? What's your favourite Laura Mercier product?

    1. Ooh, I haven't tried the silk foundation from Laura Mercier, bet it is amazing! I'm in love with the radiance primer. I'll admit, I'm lazy, I don't use primer all that often, but when I do; that's the one for me!
Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment :)

  2. I've never tried any products from Laura Mercier but am eager to buy some things! The mascara looks lovely for those "no makeup" makeup looks! Thanks for sharing this with us! xx

    1. Yeah, it is a truly fantastic mascara - I just need something (besides several cups of coffee, loud music and lots of eyeliner I mean) to make me look a little more awake though! Can't fault the quality of the product for a second though, everything I've tried from Laura Mercier has been great quality actually. :)
