My January Birchbox

Hey guys!

So after me sitting by the window and leaping in the air like an excited spaniel every time a van drove by yesterday, my Birchbox finally arrived... About five minutes after I left the house, like it always does. Sometimes I think the guy is just parked round the corner, giggling to himself and waiting for me to walk past. Or, maybe that's a little paranoid. Either way.

Anyway, I rushed home this morning and was thrilled with what I found.

So this month they've made a couple of changes; they've changed the little card-info things, to a little booklet, which I much, much prefer. It has so much more substance and the visuals/design of it is great; I actually was so drawn in by it I sat and flicked through it before I even opened my goodies! (I know, right, whaaaaaaaa?)
The other change they have made is not having the little drawstring bag with the products inside. I don't love this change so much. I think, being in some crinkled sheets of tissue paper makes it look a lot less special and high-end, plus, the bags were really useful for storing little makeup bits that normally roll around my floor. (But then maybe most people don't have little makeup things lying on their floor...hmm, insight).

Overall, I'm happy with the products I received; I'm a little gutted that there's no makeup or nail polish in this one, as I think having one item like that gives the box a bit more balance, but then on the other hand,  I like that they've gone with a January detox kind of theme - I respect that there does always seem to be a lot of thought that goes into the composition of items in their boxes.

TOMMY GUNS, FIG PLUM AND MARSHMALLOW CONDITIONER, THIS WAS A FULL SIZE PRODUCT, 250ML £5.50

So, I had looked through all the options of what I could get in the box, and this was the one I really wanted. Now, it's very cheap in terms of what Birchbox normally puts in their box, which appeals to me as (with my budget) this makes it more likely I'll repurchase it. Also, it's a full size product. Now I'm not just saying that out of greed (wants mooooooooore), no, the truth is I am genuinely looking for a new conditioner, but when there's a little bottle that you get two uses out; it's really hard to make a call in that time as to whether it's actually good for your hair. It also smells freaking amazing.

BENEFIT, POREFESSIONAL 7.5ML, FULL SIZE IS £24.50

So I was mega excited to hear that Benefit was featuring in this months box; I haven't tried a huuuuuuge range of their stuff, but everything I have tried, I've loved. So I was looking forward to trying something new from them. I have to say, that this would literally have been my last choice of all their products - but hey, it's still Benefit, and I'm sure it's still great stuff.

NOBLE ILSE, WILLOW SONG BATH AND SHOWER GEL, 30ML, FULL SIZE (250ML) IS £20.00

A brand I've never heard of before, and admittedly, the last thing on this Earth I need is shower gel, but, I am so excited by this product as it just smells so gorgeous! It smells so clean and fresh, but also very floral. It's a very uplifting summery smell (so I think I'll save it for the warmer weather), and it just smells so fresh. Love it.

VASANTI, DETOX NUTRIENT-RICH PURIFYING FACIAL CLEANSER, 2OML, FULL SIZE (150ML) IS £18.00

Not something I would have picked up for myself, but probably a good thing for me to be sent as I have been slacking off on the cleansing front lately. I need to just stop buying the wipes, the temptation to just keep using them is too strong!
This cleanser is paraben and sulphate free, though I'm not daft about the smell; I find it a little medicinal.

PREMAE, ANATOMY NUTRIENTS INSTANT RENEWAL BODY OIL, 20ML, FULL SIZE (100ML) IS £9.50

Very intrigued by this product, as I have super sensitive skin on my neck/shoulders/chest area. Even my beloved LUSH products cause it to break out and it is freaking itchy and sore guys. So Yeah, this product is super allergy tested and is designed to be used on skin that has the kind of issues mine does. If this product works for me I would definitely purchase it.

I also got a "lifestyle extra" of miso soup - which appears above in the group photos but that I can't review or photo on it's own, because the boyfriend (who has a serious miso soup addiction) snagged it for himself the second he could.
Oh well, he is paying for my Birchboxes so I guess it's fair enough for him to take the little soup sachet!

What did you get in your Birchbox? How did you feel about the box overall? Any recommendations for lotions/oils for super sensitive skin?
