Vasanti Detox Nutrient-Rich Purifying Facial Cleanser | Review

Vasanti Detox Nutrient-Rich Purifying Facial Cleanser - 150ml, £18, availabe here

So this was one of the products I received in my January 2014  Birchbox. Often I feel like getting  facial skin care in Birchbox is a little pointless for me, because my skin's so picky and sensitive, I don't necessarily get enough uses out of the small sample to determine how it would work out for me in the longer term. In this case though,a little of this product really goes a long way, so I feel I'm able to make more of a judgement.

Firstly, it's paraben and sulphate free and - as the name suggested - enriched with a host of good stuff, so that's a good start. Scent wise, I wasn't keen - to me it smelt like cheap men's shower gel, but then smell is obviously just personal preference. The packaging makes it difficult to use, it's just a pour bottle so controlling the amount you get is tricky - which is especially relevant given how little of this product you need at a time. I can't tell from any images I've found whether the full size is the same style top though - really a pump would be much better.

I think it is probably middle of the road in terms of not drying out my skin; it's far better than wipes and every drugstore cleanser I've tried, but it did leave my skin feeling a little tight which the likes of Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish never does. On the plus side though, it hasn't made my skin break out, so that's always good. It also did well removing makeup, though I wasn't brave enough to put it near my eyes, so I don't know how it would fare with that stuff, but face makeup and brow filler were taken off in a  couple of seconds.

I guess I'm kinda meh about this product; I really don't have an issue with it, but at the same time it didn't wow me. I'll finish using what I have but after that, I can't see myself repurchasing, not when the full size (150ml) is £18 - for me there are far better cleansers out there for the money.
