Boots Haul!

I'm sure it will come as no surprise that I didn't manage to steer clear of the Boots 3 for 2 after that initial Birthday spulrge. Can anyone honestly walk past and resist its siren call? Anyone? ..Didn't think so.

Anyway, I decided that if I was going to shop I had to at least try and buy some functional items and not just pick up a dozen nail varnishes (especially since I'm starting a new job where I can't wear nail varnish, but that's a whole other blog post.). So anyway, let's me shut up and actually show you what I picked up:

Umberto Gianni Frizzi Intensive Recovery Mask with Argan Oil

Those first two items are repurchases, and not for the first time either. I love them and couldn't be without them - I talked a bit about them in my Haircare Routine post - here - they're just so good for my hair, in fact the Umberto Gianni Curl Friends range is pretty good for me in general.
The Scrunching Jelly is great for adding some definition back into my curls after a couple of days; it's strong enough to tame my hair, but also really light, zero crunchy hair here. The Beauty Balm is a bit of an odd concept, it's essentially a leave in conditioner in a balm format. It sounds like it should leave hair really greasy and horrible - I mean if you don't rinse it out the residue has to go somewhere, right? But I've never found that to be an issue, I just put it on at night and it does wonders for my dry hair.
The mask is a new product for me, I've been using the mask from Umberto Gianni's Curl Friends range and I like it, it's fine, but I don't love it so I thought this might be worth a shot as my hair has been especially dry and kinda frazzled looking lately.

Sanctuary 2 Day Shower Oil
Palmers Intensive Relief Body Lotion - I apologise for the lack of a link; it's not listed on the Boots or Superdrug website..
Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Shower Scrub

All three of these are new products to me. I chose the shower oil partly because I love, love, LOVE the smell of Sanctuary stuff and partly because I notice I've been a little lazy with post-shower moisturisation, especially my legs, and I thought this would be a good way to work moisturising into shower time. It might not be as effective, but it will be better than my current nothing, I'm sure.
The Palmers lotion was a bit of an odd choice, it's not very exciting. It even smells medicinal. But as I've mentioned a thousand times the skin on my chest/neck/shoulders is crazy sensitive, and though I've now found some products that don't irritate it, it doesn't actually solve the problem. Putting on an oil/lotion that doesn't irritate it doesn't undo the damage all the other products have done to it, if you see what I mean. So I bought this in the hopes it would calm my angry skin a bit and soothe the seemingly unavoidable redness.
The body scrub, I just couldn't resist. I found out a little while ago that I'm not allergic to the Sugar Crush products from Soap and Glory and I literally haven't been able to stop thinking about the smell since. It's like ice cream soda, but so much better! I opted for the scrub as I have plenty of soap/shower gel/body lotion, but this way I can work it into my routine pretty much instantly.

Save the Nail Repair and Rescue Base Coat
Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 101
Bourjous Paris Smokey Eyes Trio

So as I mentioned above, I've started a new job where I can't wear nail varnish which sucks because a) I freaking love nail varnish, I have about 40 bottles that are just going to gather dust now and b) my nails are so wrecked. I admit, I've fallen into the lazy vicious circle of destroying my nails with nail varnish and then when I take it off, rather than do something to address that fact... I just cover them again with more nail varnish. Genius. So I bought the intensive Save the Nail treatment as it's the most recommended one I've come across, dear God I hope it lives up to its reputation!
The Kate Moss Matte lipsticks for Rimmel receive some serious lovin' in the Blogger world don't they? Frankly, late as I am to the party, I just had to try one out to know for myself. I went for the beautifully named 101 *sarcasm* which is a mid, dusky pink in the tube, but actually looks a lot more subtle on my lips. Matte isn't even the word for these things, it's more like velvety heavenliness.
And the last product I hauled was another of my beloved Bourjois Paris eyeshadow trios. You don't hear a lot about these, or I don't anyway and I'm not sure why. They're not the best eyeshadows in the world, but for the price I think they're fantastic quality. Not to mention the convenience factor; it's a prefect little 'toss in a hand bag' size and the three colours are well thought out and complimentary to each other, meaning you can create a few different looks. I love them.

So that was everything I bought in the Boots 3 for 2... not actually as bad as it could have been, not by a long way. Looking forward to having some goodies to try out and to review, you never know when you're going to find that new Holy Grail product. Thanks for reading, if you have any comments - or if you've done a blog post on a Boots 3 for 2 haul  and want to link it - feel free to use the button below to do so.
