#FridayFaves: Revlon Lip Butters

Woop Woop it's Friday again! ... Of course I'm working all weekend so you can just keep all your smug T.G.I.F commets to yourself ta very much! This week, having mentioned these products a few times (or more) on the blog lately, I wanted to talk about my absolute favourites from the range; I am of course talking about the Revlon Lip Butters. They retail for £7.99 and I find them to be really outstanding, especially at that price point. They're designed to be super hydrating and I think they live up to that. They also apply brilliantly. They're not a super bold, intense colour but they glide on very smoothly (no patches or frustration) and the colours can actually really be built up to too. And, to top it all off they don't leave your lips annoying sticky, slimy or coated feeling. Aaaaaahhhh.

So, let me show you my favourite colour picks.

 Tutti Frutti (Top Left)
So I bought this recently, but I already love it. I've never used an orange lip colour before - I mean pale corals yes, but not a bold orange. Truth be told, I'm pretty terrified of them! So I bought this knowing that the colour would be more gentle than a true lipstick, but also that I would be able to build it up as my confidence grows.

Berry Smoothie (bottom left)
I love berry tones on my colouring - honestly, all winter, that's all I wear. So when Summer comes around, though I love cracking out the corals and baby pinks,... what can I say? I still my some berry colours. So this is great for this time of year; it's not the darkest colour anyway and the slightly sheer finish makes it look a lot more Summery than the more matte versions I'll wear during the Winter.

Strawberry Shortcake (middle)
A lovely girly, mid-pink. It's just lovely. It's slightly similar to the Baby Lips Pink Punch, but this has a much more sophisticated look about it. I wear this with a nice pink blush and minimal eyes so I look feminine but not overdone - great for casual days where you still want to feel girly.

Creme Brulee (Top right)
While all the others in the list are favourites 'in no particular order' - this one is definitely my absolute favourite. It was the first one I tried, the gateway lip butter that led to a more serious addiction. I LOVE this colour. I can't say it enough. I love it with grungy, heavy eyes - keeps the focus on them, and again, keeps you from looking too overdone for day time. It's a very pale nude that minimises the look of my lips, but the slight glossy finish stops it from looking like I've just shoved foundation over them!

Cupcake (Bottom right)
Again, this is a colour that's paler than my natural lip tone - so it minimises them and allows me to pull emphasis to my eyes. I wear this one when I'm using warmer eyeshadow colours, not necessarily pinks as I don't do a lot of that, but just generally when things are a bit more girly.  Truthfully, although I do love the colour, this is the one I find most difficult to wear - I think if I wore more pinks on my eyes it would be much easier.

So I did do swatches for you, however I have a massive bruise on my left arm so I had to swatch and photograph my right arm, and the lighting was rubbish, so, you know - don't use these as judgement on whether or not you like the colour!
