British Beauty Blogger Box

So, I feel a little bad posting about this seeing as how it's now sold out and unavailable, and not only that but it sold out fast so I know there's some disappointed folks out there. However, this box is so, so amazing I wanted to do a post to show my appreciation to the amazing Jane (from BBB) and everyone who was involved in working to make this box - it has set the bar incredibly high for every beauty box out there!

So here's what was inside (I've pasted this from the BBB site, for accuracy - I hope that's OK):

Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream 3.0g (RRP £4.90)
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Full Size (RRP £19)
Elemis Treat Your Feet 20ml (£5.60)
L’Occitane Lotion Divine 50ml (£10)
Essie Spring Collection Nail Lacquer Full Size in 5 variants (RRP £7.99)
Ren Satin Perfection BB Cream 3ml (RRP £1.56)
Charlotte Tilbury Kiss (1 of 3 shades) (RRP N/A)
La Roche-Posay Eau Thermal 50ml (RRP £3.50)
Roger & Gallet Gingimbre Rouge 1.5ml (80p)
Janjira Art of Siam Hand Wash 50ml in two variants (RRP £3.50)
Lola Kabuki Brush (RRP £19)
Makeup Revolution Palette Full Size in 3 variants (RRP £4)
Bourjois Creme Blush Full Size in 2 variants (RRP £7.99)
KNEIPP Herbal Bath Full Size in 2 variants 100ml (RRP £7.95)
Bee Good Honey & Wild Water Mint Cleansing Water Full Size 100ml (RRP £10)

The box cost £19.95 which included postage, and honestly, I am blown away by the value of it.

Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream 3.0g (RRP £4.90)
This may look like a tiny sample but a) it's an eye cream (and a high end one at that!) so only the most miniscule amount is needed and b) kudos deserved for the fact it's in a super cute mini glass jar rather than a foil sachet!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Full Size (RRP £19)

Clearly this alone makes the box good value - everything else is essentially a bonus. I've never tried this, but I have heard the good rumblings and I am mega excited to try it for myself.

Elemis Treat Your Feet 20ml (£5.60)

I do long shifts on my feet and I don't drive so I walk a lot, miles and miles. I try to make it up to my feet by giving them plenty of lotions and love, so I'm mega excited to try this new cream out.

L’Occitane Lotion Divine 50ml (£10)

I am a big L'Occitane fan anyway; mostly of their shower gels (and Oh My, have you smelled their lavender bath essence?!?!), but I haven't ever tried this out. Really looking forward to it as L'Occitane products are always very high quality.

Essie Spring Collection Nail Lacquer Full Size in 5 variants (RRP £7.99)

So, I'm not the hugest Essie fan. It's not the formulas, and let's face it, they have the greatest range of colours ever... it's the brushes. I just find them a little too long and narrow; a little too much control is required for a novice like me! However, I received the colour Truth or Flare in the box here and I would have chosen it. I don't mean, I would have chosen it from the range available, I mean, if I saw it in Boots I would have snapped it up - brush issues or not! It is the most gorgeous muted blue/grey shade, I own nothing like it, which is saying something! I've already had it on and I have a #NOTD post coming soon.

Ren Satin Perfection BB Cream 3ml (RRP £1.56)

I'm a BB cream noob but it's something I'm interested in learning about as I think it'd float my boat in terms of the kind of coverage and colour I like on my face, so for that reason I'm chuffed to get the chance to try a BB cream from a brand I probably otherwise wouldn't have purchased from.

Charlotte Tilbury Kiss (1 of 3 shades) (RRP N/A)

So this is a little one use sample, it comes in a little envelope and you basically take out the little card and give it a kiss ... voila, lipstick applied. Genuinely some of the nicest sample packaging I've come across; even Kenny remarked it was 'cute'!

La Roche-Posay Eau Thermal 50ml (RRP £3.50)

This has already been placed in my Florida bag for our trip in September - I can only imagine how wonderful and cooling this will be in the heat of a Florida Summer! Really pleased to have this little treat to take with me as it's not something I would splurge on myself (well, maybe I will once I've experienced the refreshed feeling!)

Roger & Gallet Gingimbre Rouge 1.5ml (80p)

Like a lot of people perfume samples in normal beauty boxes (like Birchbox etc.) drive me mad. They seem like such poor value. But here, in this box, it would have somehow seemed like there was a void without one. I feel like Jane has put together a really good all round collection of products she loves and it only makes sense for a perfume to be included!

Janjira Art of Siam Hand Wash 50ml in two variants (RRP £3.50)

As much as I enjoy products from Janjira, I have actually passed this on to my mum. She travels a lot for business down to London or Manchester mostly, and there's lots of public transport and long days involved and well, she's a hand wash snob at the best of times (seriously, she knows what soaps are in the bathrooms of all the restaurants in our town!) but I know it really bugs her feeling grubby and public loos being stocked with that nasty pink floral smelling hand wash - I know she'll appreciate using this.

Lola Kabuki Brush (RRP £19)

I actually didn't own a Kabuki brush before and had been meaning to get one, problem solved! Having never owned one I don't have a point of reference to compare the quality of this one against, but to me it feels lovely and full, but not rigid and oh my, it's soft!

Makeup Revolution Palette Full Size in 3 variants (RRP £4)

So Makeup Revolution has been all the buzz and I had been meaning to try something out, but everytime I heard someone compare it to MUA's I held back. I have never been impressed with those palettes and even though the Makeup Revlotluion ones are only £4, I still couldn't decide. So, I was happy to see one in here. I ended up with Sticks and Stones - the palette with all the brights - which initially, of course, I was a bit gutted about. Until I tried them. These are very well pigmented and I've been loving using the brights as liners - I don't want to harp on as I have a full post coming, but seriously (for me) these are leagues ahead of MUA.

Bourjois Creme Blush Full Size in 2 variants (RRP £7.99)

I ended up with the colour that I already had (sods law eh?) - 03-  but then I knew there was a 50% chance of that when I ordered! Actually, it was a total blessing in disguise because it led to a conversation in which my little sister revealed she'd never tried a cream blush before and this is the perfect shade for her colouring and the makeup she generally wears. So this has been passed on to a loving home, and in some ways it was nicer to be able to share this with her than me just accumulating another blush.

KNEIPP Herbal Bath Full Size in 2 variants 100ml (RRP £7.95)

We know I love a good bath. And we know my skin does not always. This product should be good for me though; it's designed to be sensitive and free from nasties like parabens, plus, they're a pretty ethical company - always a plus. I received the Stress Free variant which has a delicious orange/mandarin scent - it's not a sharp citrus scent, or a sickly fruity scent, it's somewhere pleasantly in the middle.

Bee Good Honey & Wild Water Mint Cleansing Water Full Size 100ml (RRP £10)

I'm (still) in the market for a cleanser that's right for me and so I'm super happy to have this one to try out. I like bees, I've always been very fond of them - we're building a bee habitat for our garden this summer - and so it's nice to have a product that gives back to them a little.

So this little post turned into a bit of a long one, but I feel it warrants it. The other thing I loved about this box was the accompanying video Jane filmed about it. Hearing her explain why certain products were included, why she like them, how she feels about the brands - it really adds a deeper appreciation for the collection shes put together. Sometimes, with bigger/more popular bloggers I feel reviews can become a little hollow and generic - almost like they're reading a press release and OK, I'm sure they've tried the products but it's almost as though they're 'going through the motions' with the whole thing - this beauty box from Jane is about the furthest from that possible. I really trust her, her opinions and her recommendations and while I'm not saying I'll love everything I try in this box, I know at least that everything's been genuinely selected and for that, I have a lot of respect.
