Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag

I've done a couple of tag posts recently and I have to say, I really enjoy doing them and reading/watching other people's to see how they differ, or in many cases, are similar! So here are my answers to The Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag!

What is your most inexpensive beauty item?

I have various cheap things kicking about including an MUA blush but I'm actually allergic to it, so it seems silly to include it here. The cheapest product I actually regularly use is probably the Natural Collection Lash Build Mascara. I actually bought this for my £20 makeup challenge post, figuring 'it'll do' but I kind of liked it and so I thought 'OK, so I'll just use it up' and now I'm kinda thinking I might repurchase it!

What is your most expensive?

So the most decadent, expensive item I have... is probably not all that out there, it's my Urban Decay Naked Palette. I'm really not all that in to high end makeup, but eyeshadows are one of the few things I don't feel the drugstore does as well. Urban Decay shadows are buttery, blendable and have pigment coming out of their ears. I have however (so far) restrained myself from buying any more of the Naked palettes.
While not as expensive, I wanted to mention this as it's a bit of a greedy buy that there's probably no need to use as regularly as I do, and it's the Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Topcoat - the drugstore is full of topcoats in as many varieties as you can think of, but nothing gives the dry time, or glass like finish like this one does!

What products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Bold lipsticks - I love the classic, elegant, chic they give a look, but I am constantly eating and drinking (and I am a messy eater too) and I just find that for me, it is so much work to mantain a bold lip on a normal day. Even if don't eat while wearing it, no doubt I'll end up leaning on my hand at some point and smudging it everywhere! My MAC Rebel lipstick does a pretty good job of staying in place, as do the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks - so I still wear those quite often, but, one of my all time favourite bold lip colours - The Body Shop Colour Crush in 201 - I almost never wear because I can't deal with the maintenance of it!

What product has been the hardest to get?

It's not a product I wanted and now have, it's a product I'm still trying to get my hands on and it's the Lorac Pro Eyeshadow Palette. As an eyeshadow palette fiend, I have heard so much good about this one that I am dying to get my hands on it - but of course, it can't be gotten here in the UK. I'm hopefully going to be picking it up when I'm in the States later this month... hopefully...

What is your most delicious beauty product?

An easy pick! It's the Bubblegum Lip Scrub from Lush. As you may expect from the name, it smells and tastes like bubblegum, and yes, it is actually safe to eat this!

What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?

It's not a product, as such, it's an area of focus and it would be my brows. I think because I have quite thick, full brows anyway, I can be really lazy with adding more to them. I literally use my Maybelline Brow Shape Master pencil ... and that's it. I can be so lazy with setting them, or doing any more detailed work on them, I just kind of poke that pencil at them a couple of time and done. It's a shame because I think if I actually worked at them, my brows could be quite good.

What beauty product gives you the most confidence?

From what I've seen, a lot of people say foundation in here, but for me, it's mascara. I feel naked without it and I feel like people will look at my face and see the flaws, but, when I have mascara on, I feel like the attention is drawn to my eyes and I look awake, focused and in control. I'm sure it's psychological but if I had to only wear one thing, it would be mascara - my pick of the moment is still the Maybelline Rocket Mascara.

What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

I like wit; it's one of the things that first attracted me to Kenny, he has a razor sharp, dry, sarcastic sense of humor that can land him in trouble sometimes, but I love it. He makes me laugh all the time and I think that's just so incredible, even after being together a few years.
If we're talking physical attributes I like guys to be a bit scruffy and clueless. I'm not that attracted to guys who use hair products have skin care routines and enjoy shopping for clothes - I like the old school, unkempt sort that needs dragged out to buy new jeans when the old ones are so disgusting they could walk off themselves, the guys that pick up my skin care with a look of beffudlement and who watch me put on makeup like they're watching the stomach scene from alien, in reverse. I don't really know why... maybe because my first childhood crush was Aragorn (yeah, fictional character...weird...)? I guess I like them outdoorsy, a little mysterious; simple, yet deep... (ha)

What items would you like to receive as a gift?

Something I could never justify buying for myself. For example, I like high end eyeshadow but because I genuinely feel it's better value in the long run to do so, I will buy myself it. BUT, there are a lot of things I feel the drugstore does well and so I'd struggle to splurge on them.  A example is mascaras; I'd love to try any high end mascara because I never have, but I just can't justify it when the Maybelline ones are great. And foundation is another one; I'm OK with my Rimmel one but I know there's better out there! But where to start? High end foundations are pricey and could be a costly series of mistakes until I find the right one!

And so ends my Seven Deadly Sins Beauty Tag! This was a really fun one to do and if you haven't already, I tag you to do it!
