Sleek Makeup Haul

Ah Sleek, how you do tempt me with your intense pigmentation, affordable prices and stylish packaging. In fairness this is actually from last month, I just didn't get round to posting it until now, what with the whole being in Florida for three weeks thing. Also, all things considered, I was pretty restrained and just picked up a few things, namely:

Blush Trio in Flame / I love the Sleek blush trios and when this one was reduced to £4.99 I just couldn't say no. 3 very fiery colours indeed - two powder and one cream - but I've had 'scary' looking blushes from Sleek (I'm looking at you Pomegranate) before and they've always worked in great.

Molten Metal Duo in Steel and Ash  / Another item that was reduced, this one to £3.49. Metallic eyes are in this A/W and it's a trend I can totally see myself getting on board with, so I thought this would be a good place to start. It's basically a cream shadow duo - but I just loved the colours too. Plus, the name, how awesomely grungey does Steel and Ash sound?!

Lipstick in Mystic / I love Sleek lipsticks - at £4.99 a piece they are very budget friendly and I feel quality wise, they're easily on par with the more expensive drugstore brands like Bourjois and Revlon. Mystic is a matte, pink/purple shade that is terrifying in the tube - but surprisingly flattering on (I already mentioned it in my Autumn Lip post earlier this month!)

Lipstick in Liquer / This lipstick has a sheen finish, so it's great to wear for some subtle lip colour when you're wearing a heavier eye. it's a kind of pink toned, almost champagne nude shade - I've worn it a lot already. (Really? What a shock that I've worn the nude shade the most...)

Lipstick in Tweek / And the last lipstick I chose was Tweek, and it's another matte finish, but this time in a mid toned, warm brown - because let's face it, that's a very in shade this season!

Full fat lash mascara / And lastly, for £6.99, I picked up a mascara, basically for no other reason than I hadn't already tried one from Sleek. I've loved basically everything I've tried from the brand, so it made sense to see if their mascaras lived up to the rep. This is a volumising mascara, and while I haven't used it yet, the wand shape certainly looks promising.

Swatches, from left to right:

Tweek - matte brown lipstick, not for the faint hearted... or pale lol! (oh, woops)
Mystic - matte pink/purple lipstick which is looking decidedly pink here, but on the lips it's a lot more blue toned.
Liquer - sheen finish pink nude, really love this shade, so wearable and on trend too!
Molten Metal in Steel and Ash - these are a cream texture and they apply really well, and they look very metallic, but, I haven't had the greatest wear time with them, even with a primer they crease somewhat.
Blush Trio in Flame - See what I meant about the Sleek blushes? They look so scary in the pan above, but even just in a quick arm swatch I think you can see the potential for these to blend super well.

And so that's it for another haul - thank you for taking the time to read it!

  1. Perfect timing for your post. I am at the moment still assembling my wish list for Sleek for my UK visit. It is already way to long. In fact i dreamed last night that i was in the store in London and they did not have the rose gold blusher and i was upset. I think i might have to take a step back from my make up addiction ;).

    1. Sleek is a relatively new brand to me also, but now that I've found them I can't quite work out what filled that void in my makeup collection before!!!
      Thanks for reading
