The Autumn Lip

I feel like my Bloglovin' feed is just rammed full of 'Kylie Jenner lip looks' and I get that that's a thing, but I have no idea who she is (though I hear her lips are great...), so this isn't going to be that sort of post. That being said, it isn't berry central over in here either; it's just the colours I like for Autumn, for no other real reason than I like them

Love this so much. When I bought it, I was scared of it, I mean sure, I could see it was beautiful, but then so's a tiger... doesn't mean I want to go all putting it on my lips. I pictured myself wearing it with a heavy-ish eye in the evenings or when I'm more dressed up for something, but actually, I think it looks great with a simple, neutral, matte eyeshadow look - usually from my Naked Basics palette - it just adds such a pop of colour, but the shadow is enough to stop it washing out my face.

I know that a candy pink like this might not scream 'Autumn Lip' to a lot of people, but I think a crisp, cool toned pink is really nice for this time of year. Often my clothes are darker (yeah, like I don't wear black pretty much all year round) and while yes, adding to that a really vampy look can be nice, I also sometimes like a little girly pink thrown in to contrast the mauve, brown and grey tones so prevalent in my wardrobe.

Technically speaking I loved this all the way through Summer, but I am still wearing it all the time now, so I feel it's fair enough to include it! I love this, because even thought it's a nude, it's very pigmented so it just has such a 90's feel for it. This is also probably slightly too dark for my pale skin tone, but I actually like it even more for that - it's like a statement nude for me... if there is such a thing.

This is a bold lip! It's matte finish too, which just makes it all the more scary! It's a very bright purple toned pink... or is it a pink toned purple - it really sits right in the middle of the two, sometimes it looks more pink, other times, more purple. I would say the main thing for me when wearing this, is to try and have my skin looking as flawless as possible - everything needs to be well concealed and evened out or else this tends to just look a heck of a mess.

This is a deep, but slightly sheer pinky red. I always thought it was a true berry shade, but I think seeing it now next to shades like Rebel and I can see this is actually still very pink. It's lovely, it's pretty much my go-to Autumn shade - I just wish the bullet was a different shape, I have to apply this with a brush or it just doesn't go well!

And so those are my lipstick picks for this time of the year! Let me know in the comments below what your favourites are!
