Lush Christmas Lips Santa Review Cola Beauty

Now that I've moved out and am responsible for paying for my own hot water, I've realised my Lush bath product addiction might actually be rather costly - erm, sorry about that Mum. And I mean, don't get me wrong, you won't be prying me away from the Butterbears and Dashing Santas any time soon, but at the same time I decided this year to really check out some of the awesome non-tub-related treats Lush has to offer.

Winter is a rough time for lips, you know it, I know it - it's unavoidable. Lush is pretty well known for their lip scrubs (mmmm... Bubblegum), but this Christmas edition called Santa's Lip Scrub (£5.50) might just be my favourite. It's a sugar scrub packed with goodies to exfoliate, but not strip your lips and - the best bit - it's cola flavoured and, you're totally allowed to lick it off after you've finished scrubbing!

Once your lips are soft and even, you can then use some of the Santa Baby lip tint to add a pretty winter glow. Santa Baby (£5.95) is a lip tint as opposed to a tinted lip balm, which means it has a very firm and dry consistency (though it isn't drying on your lips), but it has lip-kind ingredients in, and, once applied, the tint really lasts and lasts. I simply apply it with my fingers and it's easy to wear as just a slight tint, or, you can really build it up to be a full on 'red lip'. In a pinch you can absolutely use this as a cheek stain too - just do one cheek at a time, and blend immediately with your fingers - it will set, fast. Oh, and this has the same yummy cola flavour, bonus!

S'cuse the fact I have no other makeup on folks!

What are your favourite Lush Christmas treats? Have you tried anything new this year, or are you sticking to old favourites - *cough* Snow Fairy *cough*!

  1. Lush lip scrubs are my favourite but the Santa Baby is awful (sorry!) I find it really waxy and it stains my lips and face red just before bedtime - and the smell and taste are unpleasant, at least to me. I seem to be the only person in the world to think so though so I'm wondering if I got a jar from a bad batch!

    1. That doesn't sound very pleasant! I can totally see why people wouldn't like the smell/taste as it is pretty strong, which is yummy for me, but would be very annoying if it wasn't your thing. I've never noticed any staining or waxiness though, so maybe you did get a bad one :(

    1. I love them, it's such a nice duo to use day to day, and I use the scrub most nights too! :)
