Frosted Finger Tips

I love sparkly festive nails as much as the next girl, but I needed a break; if I saw one myself with one more Cranberry, Oxblood or Scarlett nail topped with gold glitter, I was going to go a little crazy. So, this time around I went for a still wintery, but much more icy look - a simple pale blue nail with some theoretically gradient effect silver glitter. I say theoretically because I have not done my best paint job here... which perhaps isn't saying that much as I'm not exactly the Turner of nail painting at the best of times, but this paint was done at night, with artificial light and sleepy eyes, suffice to say I wasn't planning a blog post.

I used  a pale blue polish from the Maybelline Forever Strong line, which I a) can't find the name of but b) I'm sure it's discontinued because I was looking for it a while ago before a) became an issue, and I couldn't find it anywhere. I then used Essie's Beyond Cosy silver glitter polish and, as much as it pains me to suggest this for a polish that if you're like me, you only use for accent nails or the run up to Christmas - this is some really nice glitter to work with, very fine and plenty of it, totally worth the £8 if you're in the market for some.

What festive inspired nails have you been rocking lately?
