Pan That Palette - LORAC PRO (Intro Post)

So *deep breath*, I decided, going into a new year and all, that I would take a makeup inventory, y'know, just to get a grip on what exactly I own (and what I didn't already have and could find excuses to shop for, but shh) and erm, well, it was all going OK to be honest; a few more mascaras than I'd like, but hey, I'll get through them. Yeah, it was all going OK until it came time to count up my eyeshadow palettes. I was counting as a palette anything with 6 shadows or more - and well, *deep breath*, turns out I own 70. Yup, 70. Maybe that's cool with other people, but that is a crazy amount to me!!

Now, granted most of them are from Sleek, and other not crazy priced brands, but still! Also, I have only hit pan on one eye shadow, and made a significant dent in six. That's it. So something had to be done.

I became aware that the Project Pan community on YouTube were getting together to offer support to each other while they panned the LORAC PRO Palette in 2015. This wouldn't have been my first choice of palettes to pan seeing as how it's a little tricky to repurchase in the UK, but I figured I need all the help I can get, so I decided to choose the same as the others for moral support reasons. Another reason I wouldn't have chosen to pan this particular palette is that I've used it twice, so I'm starting with essentially a full palette.

So here's what it looks like right now:

It looks like I've used it a lot more than twice but that's because the shadows are so soft, and, I suppose that will actually help when it comes to trying to use them up! And, for all it's a 'full' palette, it's actually only 8.8g, which isn't that much in terms of palettes - so it should be doable to finish it.

The shades are all great in here and the only one I'm worrying about wearing a lot is Light Pink which is a matte, super light pink - and pink shadows do not suit me well! I'm sure I'll find a way round it though, well, here's hoping anyway!

So, I'll update in a month to let you all know how I'm getting on, but seriously, if like me you have too much makeup and need to do something about it, I really recommend looking into the Project Pan community online: Cherish (PrettyPistol86) and Amber (Amber F), are both successful 'panners' full of advice, and absolutely lovely!

  2. You could try layering the light pink with a touch of any of the four darker shimmer colors - I'm not sure how it would go with garnet but the others I know the color works with layering or smokier looks.
