Project Pan 2015 (1) - Start Post

2015 Project 10 Pan Start Intro

I am back on the Project Pan bandwagon -  feeling overcome with New Year-inspired motivation, to really start moving some old stuff out of my beauty 'stash' and take more control of the situation.
As a quick bit of info for anyone not familiar with what a Project Pan is; basically, it's a project to help you work through and manage your beauty stash. You go through and look our some usually old or unloved items, and make a commitment to use them pretty much constantly until you finish them up. People work on all different kinds of items, in different amounts, and some people choose to go on no-buys or low-buys for the duration.

I'm starting a Project 10 Pan, and while I won't be going on a no buy linked in with the project, I am keeping myself on a pretty rigid budget this year, so I shan't be hauling any time soon (except the Lush sale haul I still have to do, but that doesn't count, it was from before the project started!!)

ITEM ONE: 2X30ML MARKS AND SPENCERS' HAND CREAMS (100% FULL)

Yeah just to start with a curveball there, item one is actually two items! 30ml isn't a big amount of hand cream to go through; especially not in Scotland in January, and so I thought I'd try and just go through two. Both are never used, or maybe used once.
I ended up receiving a few of these last Christmas (as in 2013, so not 'last Christmas' at all Kitty...*sigh*) and while they're perfectly fine, they're not my favourites by far and they've just been sort of neglected.

RIMMEL MATCH PERFECTION CONCEALER (40% LEFT)

This thing just will not finish!! I tried 'panning' this item last year and then forgot all about it when I bought the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer'. I was so convinced it was 'basically done' last year that I cut the end off 'to make it easier to get the last little bits' *sigh*, I've used it loads since then and there's still about 40% left!
There's nothing wrong with this concealer, it's just for me, with it being a concealer and highlighter combo, under the eyes should be the perfect place for it, but, I just don't feel it has enough coverage, which is a shame because the shade and finish are lovely.

MAYBELLINE COLOUR TATTOO IN 'ON AND ON BRONZE' (95% LEFT)

This will be a challenge I'm sure. Bought it. Used it. Loved it. Bought more. Have too many. They're going to go off, so, going to use this one first as it's the oldest (yeah, by like three weeks lol) and it's a fairly easy to wear bronze shade that should be good under most eye looks (do not ask me how I'm going to get rid of the baby pink tattoo when the time comes...). As wearable as this shade is, however, I know it's still going to take a while!!

LUSH FEELING YOUNGER HIGHLIGHTER (95% LEFT)

I love this highlighter, it's a cream, it's slightly pink hued so it goes great with my cool skin tone, it's from Lush, so y'know. But it is a HUGE tub - it's 20g, which for a cream highlighter seems like a crazy big amount to me (or is that just me?!). I love using it and I'm certainly not panning it to get rid of it, but like all Lush products, it has an expiration date - which is October 2015 - and I just want to make sure I get to use it up before it expires.

THE BALM'S STAINIAC CHEEK AND LIP STAIN - SAMPLE SIZE (USED ONCE)

This came with a Birchbox quite a while ago now and I've just never been into it, or any stain for my cheeks really. I feel like it should give a subtle glow, but really it makes me look like an extra from a movie set in Georgian England. But, it is such a small amount so I'd like to find a way to just work with it and use it up.

MAYBELLINE BROW DRAMA SCULPTING BROW MASCARA (I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH IS LEFT/HOW MUCH LONGER IT WILL LAST)

You can't really tell how much is left in these things I guess, could last another six months (hopefully not...). I loved this when I bought it, it evens out my brows a little bit and it holds things down somewhat, but now, I don't know, maybe I'm just into bigger brows, but I just feel a little 'naked' only using this. Still it's fine, especially for days I'm only in the house or whatever, so I'm just going to try and finish it.

LUSH KARMA SOLID PERFUME (90% LEFT)

Karma is one of my all time favourite Lush scents (she says, for the millionth time), and I was so freaking excited when I got this, BUT, I'm having a lot of issues with perfumes triggering panic attacks for me (it's an ongoing anxiety issue, I haven't just developed perfume related nervous probs - that would be super concerning!!) and I'm really enjoying wearing them less and less. I end up feeling headachey and 'trapped' by the smell and that leads to panic attacks - I'm trying my best to find places to apply it that won't cause me to feel this way, but truthfully, I'm not sure I'll finish it - I'm not that bothered though, I just want to know I've tried my best to get the most out of it rather than just left it in a drawer.

URBAN DECAY TRAVEL SIZE LINER IN 'COVET' (90% LEFT)

I'm a huge fan of the Urban Decay liners (though not for price tag...) And so I've ended up accumulating quite a few of them and some, like this one, are starting to dry out a little. It's still OK, but best to work on using it up ASAP. Although it's a green I'm not too intimidated, it's pretty dark, especially on the water line and it looks quite nice with my hazel eyes.

CRAZY RUMORS GINGERREAD LIP BALM (65% LEFT)

I've talked already (several times) about how much I love this lip balm, and it is hands down the best lip balm I've ever tried. SO nourishing and softening and just lovely to apply. However, it is the gingerbread variety and frankly, as much as I love it, I don't want to be using it in April - not when they make so many other flavours!!

MAYBELLINE COLOR DRAMA LIPSTICK IN LIGHT IT UP (95% LEFT)

I actually only bought this recently and I love it - I'm pretty terrified of bold lips but this is just so classic and cheery it's hard not to like it. I'm panning it as a way of pushing me to be brave and wear it, even just once a week, because I know what I'm like with these things - total scaredy cat!

And that's that then. I actually took these photos and started the challenge on January 1st and already, in however many days that's been I'm seeing how big a challenge a couple of these products will be! But I am determined, so hopefully I shall prevail!!

Planning to update in a couple of weeks - assuming there's noticeable progress - if not, I'll wait another week or so until there is.
