Meet Meeko

Joining me up at the flat (finally) is my little 14 year old cat, Meeko. Ain't she a cutie?  But seriously though, it means the world to me to have her here living with me, even if being a cat mummy is suddenly a daunting task...
Hard to believe she's 14 years old, Meeko is still very playful and active (well, as active as a  cat ever is...) for her age. Open a can of tuna? BOOM, cat appears in less than two seconds. Alarm goes off in the morning? BOOM cat on your head in less than three seconds. It's impressive really.

She's settled in with us so well - and by 'settled in' I of course mean, 'has established herself above Kenny in the pecking order' - and it's hard to believe we waited so long to bring her up. Of course, as they say, hindsight is 20/20 and looking back now I wish we'd brought her up months ago. It wasn't as clear at the time though, it was a big adjustment for her and it was hard to weigh up whether moving her was really best for her, or simply selfish on my part because I missed her so much.

And that's why I wanted to just do a little intro type post today; because the plan is, in the weeks and months to come, that I'd like to write some stuff about my experience of moving my senior cat to live with me; a process that involved her becoming an indoor cat and having to go on the longest car journey of her life. It was a big undertaking and not something I took lightly, so I'd like to share my thoughts and experiences to help anyone who finds themselves in the same position - I know I'd have loved to hear some peoples' experiences to reassure me.

So what do you think? Would you be up for some cat based posts? Anything in particular you'd like to read about?
